A public house is described simply as any non-member bar where a person can enter as they please. Although pubs and taverns frequent street corners and strips malls in my birth city, Indianapolis, few establishments today carry the full name public house. Shoefly is one of them.

Indy’s live music scene is multifarious. From alternative cover bands in north side bars and indie acts in Fountain Square to arena sell-outs downtown, our city does not lack this important cultural attribute. Although our city lies some miles between music capital Nashville and Chicago, our venues traffic big-time musicians on a regular basis. In this Trndy article, I will describe a few of Naptown’s staple venues and upcoming summer concerts where you’ll be sure to find great music, wonderful people and good vibes.
Fletcher Place fine diner offers homestyle favorites with a hipster twist
Located on Virginia Avenue in Fletcher Place, even a cold and rainy morning could be made brighter by the spunky, warehouse-style fine diner at Milktooth. Greeted immediately by hipster hostesses and a line out the door, we knew we had found the place recommended by many Indy millennials. We put in our name for a few of the near 60 occupied seats, and headed for the combination coffee/cocktail bar.
