Tunes at Twilight brings together good music, good beer and a good cause

With a new 5k for a cause popping up every weekend Outrun the Sun invites you to a fundraiser that doesn’t require you to lace up your running shoes.

Outrun the Sun, founded in Indianapolis just over 10 years ago and Indiana’s only nonprofit benefiting skin cancer education and melanoma research, wants Hoosiers to enjoy an evening with good friends, good beer and good music all while joining the fight against skin cancer. Tunes at Twilight will feature a performance by local singer-songwriter, Chad Mills, at Daredevil Brewing Co. on Sunday, Oct 4 at 6 pm. Admission is $5, paid at the door. Come in take a seat, enjoy the music and the cold beer while your admission fee goes towards Outrun the Sun’s skin cancer education programs and Melanoma Research Scholars.

Emerging YouTube Channel Promotes Hoosier Musicians and Sites

Just over a year ago, Nicole Conflenti set out to combine her passions of music and film. Inspired by the popular YouTube channel, the Mahogany Sessions, and Indy’s growing music community,  the Catalyst Sessions were born. The channel consists of acoustic single session performances of emerging musicians around the state of Indiana. The channel’s mission is simple:  “We believe music hits the hardest in its simplest form. That’s why we record artists live, raw, and unplugged. No microphones, no amps – just the music.” The concept is captivating and the talent is stunning. And it’s all conceptualized,  filmed and produced by Conflenti, a full-time college student.

Jon McLaughlin Returns with Love Inspired Track

Jon McLaughlin returns to tug at all the hopeless romantic’s heart strings with his latest piano-pop ballad “Before You.” It’s been almost two years since Hoosier singer-songwriter Jon McLaughlin partnered with PledgeMusic and allowed fans to help select the tracks for his fourth album, Holding My Breath. And last November McLaughlin released his widely successful holiday EP that went on to top the iTunes holiday music charts. And just recently, McLaughlin announced, via his website, plans to release his fifth full length album and upcoming Like Us tour this fall.

Dreaming Big Landed Hoosier Singer-Songwriter the Performance of a Lifetime

Two years ago singer-songwriter Haley Jonay received a backstage pass to meet platinum recording artist and singer-songwriter, Ed Sheeran. Together they sang the chorus of his hit single “Lego House” and he told Jonay she had a beautiful voice. Inspired by his support, Jonay released her debut album Haley Jonay in November of 2014 and quickly became a local Hoosier favorite. And tonight, Jonay will be living out another dream: performing on the Plaza Stage at Klipsch Music Centre before Ed Sheeran’s sold out concert.
